The City of Brixen

The apartment is located in the city center of Brixen, a small enchanting medieval city in the heart of South Tyrol which is surrounded by the Alps and Dolomites. The cathedral with its 1000 year old cloister and big square, the Hofburg (the former domicile of the archbishops of Tyrol), the parish church and its characteristic “white tower”, the pittoresque quarter “Stufels”, the promenade along the Eisack and the famous Hotel Elephant are only a few of the many worth-seeing spots of the city which are all located in a 500 m radius of our Downtown Hideout.

Explore

The Mountains

It is flanked on the eastern side by the Plose and Telegraph (Monte Telegrafo) mountains (2,504 m) and on the western side by the Königsanger (Monte Pascolo) (2,436 m) mountain.

Try some

Sportive Adventure

Here are a couple of sport activities you shouldn’t miss when you stay in Brixen: Hiking, cycling, mountain biking, riding, swimming in natural lakes amid unspoilt nature, skiing, snowboarding, nordic skiing, toboganning. And for the most courageous once: canyoning, rafting, paragliding.

Indulge in

Delicious food

South Tyrol is famous for its delicious food. Don’t miss the opportunity to try the typical dishes like the Schlutzer, Kasnocken, Schüttelbrot, Hirtenmaccheroni, Apfelstrudel, Strauben, Zelten ecc. in one of the many restaurants nearby the apartment (Francesca will be happy to give you some recommendation) or in one of the many huts up on the mountains. Of course you can also find excellent Italian dishes and pizza (Francesca knows the best places).

Live

The local life

Brixen offers a lot of fancy little restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Another particularity of the city is the sheer amount of bakeries. Nearly every 50 meters you will find the opportunity to buy some yummy bread and cake.
